The spirit of our age
The Gallery announces a new lecture series focusing on six major contemporary artists
From British performance artist duo Gilbert & George to this year’s Australian representative at the Venice Biennale, Hany Armanious, each lecture in the series offers an opportunity to delve deeply into an artist’s practice, exploring processes, histories and interpretations. Lectures will be given by some of Australia’s most accomplished scholars and curators, who will join participants for drinks and discussion following the talk.
Speakers include Juliana Engberg, the artistic director of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Charles Green and Anthony White of the University of Melbourne, Susan Best and Tanya Peterson of UNSW’s COFA and Blair French, the executive director of Artspace.
Student rates are available for both a series subscription and individual lectures. For lecture abstracts, details and information on how to book, please visit the website.
